What happens when artists try to explain their workouts.
CrossFit Eastside will be hosting Fight Gone Bad IV (
FGBIII,
FGB II) , an annual fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project, on September 26, 2009, at 10:00 am. Hundreds of CrossFit affiliates around the world will be doing the same thing on the same day, working together to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars (or more) as a community.
The event at CrossFit Eastside is open to all -- meaning you don't have to be a CrossFit Eastside regular to join in on the fun. We know you regular CF Eastsiders will be out in force for it. If you train at another CF affiliate that's not participating, you're heartily invited to come represent with us. The workout weights are scalable to make it accessible to folks at almost all levels of fitness and experience. We will have a potluck BBQ at the gym after the event.
To sign up for the event, navigate to
http://www.fgb4.org/ > Find Team > Team Name > "CrossFit Eastside."
The drive before the split.
The glute-ham raise takes the standard hip extension one step further, raising the torso up into a nearly vertical position until the knee is flexed to almost a full ninety degrees. This requires intense contraction of essentially everything on the posterior side of the body--spine, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. It also exercises the hamstrings in both their proximal function (hip extension) and distal function (knee flexion) at once.
